City of London Festival iPhone App
Each summer the City of London Festival brings the City's unique buildings and outdoor spaces to life with an extensive artistic programme of music,
visual arts, film, walks and talks, much of it free to the public. Inaugurated in 1962 to revitalise the cultural life of the City, it has established itself as one
of the UK's leading arts events. The Festival entertains all those that live, work and visit this special location with unique events and world-class artists in beautiful surroundings.
When the City of London Festival decided to extend their promotional activities beyond the web to mobile devices, they turned to IST to provide an iPhone App
solution using the Appvox rapid App builder.
The App provides a handy pocket abstract reference guide for Festival goers, including news, a What’s On and a list of venues for Festival events. The City of
London is rich with wonderful buildings and spaces, both ancient and modern, which makes the Square Mile such a unique place to be. The Festival is lucky
enough to gain access to such buildings which often remain closed to the public. Magnificent venues like Mansion House, Stationers' Hall, Merchant Taylors' Hall and
St Paul's Cathedral, as well as the more intimate City churches, are all Festival venues during the summer months. The Festival also enjoys events in the outdoors,
with favorite spots in the Guildhall Yard, Paternoster Square and New Street Square to name but a few.

Once again we've had the privilege of working with the City of London Festival to produce the iPhone App guide to the Festival. By working more closely with the Festival Web team, our Appvox engineers have produced an enhanced App, full of useful information about the Festival which will be continually updated in the following days and weeks.
